This serious game has the player immerse in a few days in the life of an Industrial Design (ID) student. The player will follow a classic design process and learn about expertise areas, all while playing fun minigames along the way. The player can control a whole team of students with different levels in their expertise areas that can be leveled up by playing mini-games. At the end of these, the player will receive a score. At the end of the last step in the design process, the player will receive an overall score to depict how well they did in their design project.

Learning points


2D Unity
This project was my first serious attempt at developing a 2D game in Unity. While progress went slow in the beginning, at the end of the project I felt confident in my newfound Unity skills.
Serious ID
One thing I particularly enjoyed about this project, was the usage of serious game theory and the link to Industrial Design. Because of this, the project provided two clear anchors in which I could clearly and enthusiastically go wild in ideating.
Pixel art
While I do like to draw digitally, I never tried making pixel art before this project. I enjoyed exploring different styles greatly and really appreciate the fun feeling this pixel art style gives.
